Project Overview: This interdisciplinary project between Humanities, Math, and Engineering asked students to explore their own origin stories. For the Humanities component, students interviewed one another and made podcast episodes about their classmates, investigating the factors that shaped us into the people we are today. In crafting their podcast episodes, students practice the art of telling a powerful story. Students will create a professional finished product by using audio editing software to cut selections from the interview and add narration and music. All final podcasts will be housed on this page at the conclusion of the project. In Math, students developed and conducted a survey to collect data about who we are as a team. They explored the best ways to present different types of data visually in order to communicate that story to our larger community at HTHNC. Our process included examining data and data visualizations created by others in order to analyze the story and trends being presented. |
Essential Questions: How can we collect “good data”? How can we examine and think critically about the presentation of data? How can we use trends in data to tell a story? What factors shaped us into the people we are today? How can I tell a powerful story? |
